About the RiderIA true California girl, Cassie grew up in Anaheim just down the street from Disneyland. Even at a young age her love of horses was very apparent. Sitting on a pony for a quick photo was all it took and from that point forward Cassie was bound and determined to ride. Cassie began her competitive dressage career at the age of 13 riding a retired thoroughbred racehorse named Landseer. Perpetually the underdog, Landseer set a record as the longest longshot to win at Santa Anita coming in at 99-1 and winning by a nose. Lance settled into his second career with Cassie and together this determined horse and rider team climbed their way up the dressage levels, winning numerous championships along with way. After a successful junior and young rider career, Cassie was twice selected for the US Equestrian Team / US Dressage Federation Advance Young Rider Graduate Program for emerging professional dressage riders. While attending the University of California at Irvine, Cassie worked for several sport horse breeders backing and starting youngsters. Many of the horses that Cassie started moved on and enjoyed illustrious careers in both jumping and dressage. Upon graduation she began competing again on a number of young horses including her own horse Regaard, with the goal of once again riding at the upper levels of dressage. She continued to train and regularly sought instruction while simultaneously balancing a successful career in marketing and business development. Cassie teamed up with her current coach USEF 'S' dressage judge Janet Curtis in 2016. With Jan’s meticulous eye and the help of very special horse named Whizzkid, she polished her riding skills and finally achieved her goal of riding Grand Prix dressage. In 2017 Cassie earned her USDF Gold Medal and won every Grand Prix competition she entered. In 2018 Cassie partnered up with another talented horse named Hello Halli. With a strong support team solidly behind her, Cassie is working towards making her Grand Prix debut with Halli in early 2019 and aspires to represent the United States in international competition in the future.
